“DEDA MRAZ”, “NOVA GODINA” – winter holidays and community balls  

It is a manifestation of Serbian communities from Moldova Veche and Măcești; it is associated with the first and second Christmas day on the old rit, that is January 7 – January 8, and the new year on the old rit, that is January 13 – January 14.

On January 7th, the Serbian folk dance band of the Union of Serbs from Moldova Veche presents a show at the cultural House in Moldova Veche, and on January 8th a show at the cultural House in Măcești, after the performances in both Moldova Veche and Măcești, a ball is organized for all citizens in the two localities.

On 14 January – 13 the cultural week organizes the new year’s Eve with the participation of the Moldova Nouă Culture House orchestra.

“FAȘANCUL” / “FARȘANGUL”

It is an open-air event in February – March, before Easter attended by all citizens of the Moldova Nouă.  Organized by the City Hall and the Moldova Nouă cultural House, is a show held mostly on the streets of the city, where the masks appear. In the evening the “Ball of masks” starts. The most beautiful masks are chosen and awarded.

“EASTER BALL”

It is a holiday taking place on Easter days and is an old tradition of Moldova Nouă city, where young and elderly people dressed in folk costumes are joining the dances. The event is organized by the City Hall and local Council Moldova Noua.  This tradition is held on the plateau outside the Moldova Noua House of Culture.

“1 JUNE – DAY OF CHILDREN”

The Moldova Nouă Culture House, with the support of the City Hall and the local Council, dedicates this day to children through cultural, sporting and artistic events, performances, workshops, surprises and gifts of all kinds.

“DANUBE DAY”

Every year, on 29th of June, when Christian – Orthodox celebrate the St. Paul and Peter’s day, the Danube is celebrated through exhibitions, cultural and sporting activities dedicated to young people participating in various competitions – chess, cros, table tennis, sports fishing, ecological river actions.

“OUTDOOR OPERA EVENING”

It is a classic music concert in June.  The event is held on the Danube cliff of Moldova Nouă. It is organized by the Mother of God Parish in Moldova Nouă.

“GOLDEN CAULDRON” from Moldova Veche

It is a cultural – sporting event organized by the local Organization of the Union of Serbs from Moldova Veche with the support of the Union of Serbs in Romania, the Caras-Severin County Council, the City Council, and the House of Culture in Moldova Nouă.

The event takes place every year at the beginning of August.  It starts with a sports program – football, chess, tennis, sports fishing. Then, the fish soup contest starts and the teams begein to prepare and serve it at the Moldova Veche Cultural House. Then is the moment of a folklore show where, besides the groups of the Culture House, bands from Arad, Timis, Mehedinti and Caras-Severin counties, but also from Serbia exibit. The event ends with a ball.

“RUGA/CITY DAYS”

Event organized by the City Hall, the local Council and the cultural House in Moldova Nouă takes place every year on August 15 – 16, when the Christian – Orthodox celebrate “Saint Mary or the Worshipful of the Mother of God”.  The groups of the Culture House of Moldova Nouă, followed by professional bands and vocalists are held in the open air, on the Danube shores.

“INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL”

Film screenings for all tastes and age categories delight the viewers for a week every evening on the Danube cliffs.

“PENSIONER’S DAY”

It is a manifestation exclusively dedicated to third-age people.  There are competitions of chess, table, rummy, but also a free meal and a ball in which the longest-lived people and couples in the locality will be celebrated.  The evening will end with a theater show.

“CULTURE DAYS”

Organized by the City Hall, the local Council and the cultural House from Moldova Nouă, it takes place every year in October during two (or more) days.  In the first and second days, symposia are scheduled on various topics (European integration, environment, health, engineering, it, literature) where professors, doctors, engineers are invited as lecturers.  On the first evening, the modern dance, ethno and society groups of the Moldova Nouă Culture House together with the best bands from the Moldova Nouă’s schools, put together an artistic show, followed by a disco evening for all participants.  On the second evening, folk dance groups, along with the Culture House orchestra, perform a folklore show, and the evening ends with a ball for all participants.

“WINTER HOLIDAYS – HAPPY CHRISTMAS!”

On the eve of Christmas Day, the City Hall, the local Council and the House of Culture of Moldova Nouă organizes the “Carols’s day”, the day when children from kindergartens, schools and high school, from the smallest to the largest, come to the City Hall to receive the leaders and employees of the institutions, being rewarded by the latter with gifts.  In the evening, the groups of the Culture House and schools show an artistic performance.
